The plain terms
Four things to know before you talk to anyone.
Most companies bury these in the footer. We put them first, in the same size as everything else.
What it costs
Fees apply, and you see them in dollars before you sign.
The fee is a percentage of your enrolled debt, set individually, and charged only after a settlement is reached. The estimates here use an illustrative 20%.
How long it takes
Most programs run 24 to 48 months.
Accounts resolve one by one as your dedicated account grows.
What can go wrong
Your credit score will drop during the program.
Creditors may keep collecting and can sue. Forgiven debt may be taxable (IRS Form 1099-C). Not all creditors settle.
Who you’ll talk to
A real person picks up the phone. No bots.
In English, Spanish or Hungarian. We also serve clients abroad who hold a US SSN or ITIN.

Programs
What we can help with.
For people and for businesses. None of it is a loan.
We don't sell consolidation loans. Here's why that matters.
A consolidation loan is new debt used to pay off old debt. Some companies earn money when you take one. We don't offer them at all, so we have no reason to steer you toward one.
Settlement is one path out of debt, not the only one. Here is how it stacks up, including where the others are the better choice.

What we do Debt settlement
Consolidation loan
Debt management plan
Bankruptcy
What it is
We negotiate each debt down; you pay the settled amounts from an account in your name.
A new loan pays off your old debts. You still owe the full balance.
A nonprofit credit counselor arranges lower interest; you repay the full balance.
A court process that can erase or restructure debt.
What it costs
The settled amounts plus our fee, charged only after a settlement is reached and shown as its own line. Forgiven debt may be taxable.
The full balance plus interest on the new loan, and any loan fees.
The full balance, usually with a small monthly fee.
Court and attorney fees.
How long
Most programs run 24 to 48 months.
The loan term, often several years.
Often 3 to 5 years.
Months (Chapter 7) or 3 to 5 years (Chapter 13).
Credit impact
Your score will drop during the program.
Needs good credit to qualify; can help if paid on time.
Usually a smaller dip; enrolled cards are often closed.
The largest impact, reported for 7 to 10 years.
Who it fits
$10,000 or more of unsecured debt you can't keep up with.
Good credit and income steady enough to repay in full.
You can repay in full if the interest comes down.
Debt you cannot repay in any realistic time. Talk to a bankruptcy attorney.
If a debt management plan or bankruptcy fits you better, we will tell you so. Free nonprofit credit counseling is a good first call for many people, and we will point you there when it is.

Illustrative example. Results vary; not all debts settle. Your credit score will drop, creditors may still sue, and forgiven debt may be taxable.
Yes. Your credit score will drop during the program. If protecting your score matters more to you than lowering what you pay, a debt management plan or a loan may suit you better. The comparison above shows the trade.
Can a creditor sue me?
It can happen. Creditors may continue collection while your accounts are enrolled, and they can sue. If you receive court papers, call us right away at 866-659-7966.
Is forgiven debt taxed?
It may be. The IRS can treat forgiven debt as income, and a creditor may send you Form 1099-C. A tax professional can tell you how it applies to you.
What do you charge?
A fee applies: a percentage of your enrolled debt, set individually, and charged only after a settlement is reached. Every estimate shows it as its own line, in dollars. The estimates on this page use an illustrative 20%. We show you the exact fee before you decide anything.
Do you offer consolidation loans?
No. We don't make or sell consolidation loans. We negotiate what you owe. If a loan would serve you better, we'll tell you.
What if I miss a deposit?
Call us and we'll adjust the schedule. You won't be dropped.
Do I have to enroll every creditor?
No. You don't have to enroll every creditor. Your negotiator can talk through which accounts make sense to include.
Which states do you serve?
We're enrolling clients in Florida, Georgia, Texas and California. Debt settlement isn't available in every state. If yours isn't on the list, free nonprofit credit counseling is a good place to start.
We also work with clients abroad who hold a US SSN or ITIN.
